Blood pressure is a test done to determine the pressure of the blood against the walls of blood vessels. This pressure is determined by how the heart pumps, the resistance to blood flow in the small arteries, the elasticity of the walls of the main arteries, how much blood is present and the blood viscosity or thickness.
Problems from high blood pressure arise when a blood vessel gets too small for the high pressure flow going through it. Blood pressure monitoring in dogs and cats will become more common as time goes on. modest expectations, and very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the product. Having relatively "rookie" ears, very pleased at the quality of the acoustics of this little fella. Lung sounds have never been clearer, and can pick up a murmur from six feet away. Well, the last part is a bit exaggerated, but you get the idea. its the best purchase. It has really good acoustics, very accurate when taking blood pressure. I recommend this to anyone who wants to get something good and cheap. Combined with the Omron Sphygmomanometer it can also measure the blood pressure and heart rate of adult people. This combination is really great and way more accurate than the electronic blood pressure measurement equipements that are usually much more expensive. View Details

Outstanding quality, consistency and accuracy! At the end of the day that is all you can ask from a blood pressure cuff (sphygmomanometer). A few things to bear in mind: In consecutive readings done at the same time, you will see a trend from higher to lower blood pressure as you “learn” to lower your own pressure. Also, your blood pressure at home will be lower than that you obtain at your doctor’s office until you learn to overcome the anxiety normally associated with the doctor’s office. This is normal and is one of the main reasons to obtain a home blood pressure monitor. Also, your pressure will fluctuate from day to day and even during a blood pressure monitoring session.
